Headbands of Hope LLC is an amazing organization founded by Jessica Ekstrom in her NC State college dorm in 2012. Since then, the company has donated almost one million headbands (943 thousand at last count) to children with cancer and other serious illness.
The company has supported every children’s hospital in the United States and 19 other countries in addition to bringing smiles to the faces of sick children wherever they can be found.
Headbands of Hope is an inspirational organization with a dual mission of marketing gorgeous fashion apparel and accessories that women all over the world love, while also bringing joy to children who need it most. For every fashion item the company sells, a headband is donated to a special child. A headband is a small accessory but it gives such an immense impact on children battling life-threatening illness. Bringing one smile and a moment of self confidence to a child in the hospital makes a world of difference.
The company and its socially conscious mission have been celebrated in a variety of media forums including Cosmopolitan, Family Circle, Forbes, Good Morning America, The View, People, Seventeen, Today, Vanity Fair, Women’s Health and other channels.
2020 brought challenges but also dramatic growth to Headbands of Hope as they began marketing all kinds of beautiful face coverings. The business has also growth through expansion of eCommerce channels, placement in bricks & mortar boutique retailers all over the country, and also television-based shopping.
